An Iraqi security source in Diyala Province confirmed that the Iraqi Army has deployed its forces in Qarh Los, east of the province.
The source said that the army units had begun to deploy effectively, and had captured the Qarh Los district in the outskirts of Mandali district (94 km east of Baquba) to ward off threats from ISIS terrorists, who had recently emerged and launched a series of attacks on security checkpoints, resulting in casualties.
The source added that the deployment will cut the road for ISIS to Mandali and its villages, and end the state of anxiety that has emerged recently, especially after targeting more than one security station.
Mandali is considered one of the important border cities on the Iraqi-Iranian borders.
