Indonesian newspaper: The sword of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, is a symbol of separation between right and wrong


In an editorial article, the Indonesian online newspaper Req News praised the “Zulfiqar” sword of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, and described it as a symbol of Islamic history.
The newspaper said in its article entitled “Ali ibn Abi Talib and the Wword of Zulfikar: Two Eyes that Explain Many Beliefs,” that “this sword was given to the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, as a noble gift from the Noble Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, in the Battle of Uhud, long before the assuming the mandate of the Islamic nation. The sword accompanied the successor of the Messenger of God in many wars until his martyrdom, peace be upon him, on the 21st of Ramadan of the year 40 AH.
The article continued, “Similar to the position of Imamate, this sword was transferred after the martyrdom of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, to his son, Imam Hassan, peace be upon him, then to Imam Hussain and Zain al-Abideen, peace be upon them, until it reaches the hand of Imam Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance.
The Indonesian newspaper indicated, “The word Zulfiqar comes from the Arabic origin, which means (dividing), and the sword is a symbol of the difference between truth and falsehood.”
