Pakistani minister calls for a united stand against persecution of Muslims
Pakistani Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari described the differences in the Islamic world as “unfortunate”, and called for a united stand against to confront the persecution of Muslims by many countries, including India.
Mazari said, in a press interview, “We need stronger voices from the Islamic world on human rights issues,” calling on “the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (57 countries) to do more in this path.”
“The coming months will witness more offensive diplomacy over occupied Kashmir, where India is committing war crimes and slow genocide,” she said.
Mazari said that “Pakistan and Turkey are in constant contact on major issues, and there are ongoing consultations on issues such as Islamophobia and the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.”
She called for more consultations between civil society organizations in the two countries, and an increase in cooperative projects between the media.
The Human Rights Minister stressed the need for Islamic countries to “bury differences” and be “more active at the diplomatic level” to protect the rights of Muslims.
