ISIS terrorist organization seeks to attack the crowds of Kabul Airport
An official in the US Department of Defense revealed intelligence information showing the desire of the ISIS terrorist organization to attack the crowds in the vicinity of Kabul Airport.
CNN quoted the official, who did not reveal his identity, that concerns about the security of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul have increased, explaining that the increase in fears is due to a “very specific threat” by ISIS and its desire to launch planned attacks against the crowds outside the airport.
The US authorities believe that ISIS terrorist organization, as a sworn enemy of the Taliban, wants to create chaos at the airport.
The US official stated that the United States had obtained frequent intelligence information that the organization was able to carry out multiple attacks and that it was planning to carry them out.
A regional anti-terror source had revealed that about several hundred ISIS members may have escaped from prisons in Bagram and Pul Charkhi, east of Kabul, after the Taliban took control of both prisons shortly before capturing Kabul.
