Detroit witnesses massive march in honor of Imam Hussein organized by Imam Jafar al-Sadiq Center


After thirteen days of grief and mourning for the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, the Imam Jafar al-Sadiq Center in Detroit, Michigan, initiated a unified Husseini march, in which a large number of Husseini organizations and processions participated, to announce the grief for Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in front of the whole world.
The center’s management said in a statement received by Shia Waves, “The initiative to establish a Husseini march in the middle of the US state of Michigan, succeeded as a large number of Husseini organizations and processions and the masses loving Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, came out together and announced grief and sorrow for the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him.”
The statement added that “the massive Ashura procession started from Dar al-Hikma and headed towards the center for a distance of five kilometers, during which mourners chanted slogans of condolence and support for the eternal Husseini cause.”
The statement clarified that Iraqi, Lebanese, Syrian, Gulf and Yemeni citizens participated in the march.
It is worth mentioning that the Imam Jafar al-Sadiq Center in Detroit is one of the active Shia centers affiliated with the Shirazi Religious Authority, and it strives to hold mourning ceremonies and various religious and cultural programs to serve the Shia community in the city.
