The Islamic Center in East Brunswick, New Jersey, USA, has started building a new mosque and Islamic center in the city.
According to a statement by the center, a ceremony was held to mark the start of the construction of the center, in the presence of the mayor and a group of the Muslim community in the city. The new mosque and Islamic center will be built by the East Brunswick Islamic Center, and the center will include a place of worship and a religious school.
The center’s president, Fahim Suhrawardi, said that the center welcomes East Brunswick residents.
East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen stressed, “We support the establishment of a new mosque in our city, and hope that God will bring health, prosperity and love to Muslims.”
It is worth mentioning that the population of East Brunswick is about 47,000 people, and the Islamic Center of the city began its activity in 2004 outside a small church that was renovated.
