A report issued by the World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), warned of a high rate of hunger in 23 countries, due to conflicts, the Coronavirus pandemic and climate change.
The report expected that conflicts, the economic repercussions of the pandemic and the climate crisis will lead to high levels of acute food insecurity in 23 hunger hotspots over the next four months.
“The vast majority of those on the edge are farmers, and we must do everything we can to help them resume food production themselves,” the report quoted FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu as saying.
