Imam Hussain Holy Shrine unveiled a large monument representing the allegiance of al-Ghadeer in the middle of one of its pilgrims’ cities in the holy Karbala.
Hazem Thamer Hamza, assistant director of Sayyed al-Awsiya Pilgrims’ City, said, “A huge monument representing the allegiance of Ghadeer Khum and the inauguration of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, has been unveiled.”
Hamza explained, “The monument is nine meters long and seven meters wide,” indicating that the opening ceremony was held in the presence of a crowd of people.
He added that the monument was done by the artist, Dr. Hussein Al-Qarawi, a professor at the University of Babylon, and he used a copper-coated, pressurized super fiber material in the work of this monument, which suits the weather conditions in Iraq.
