The Commission for Human Rights announces the number of victims of the Ibn al-Khatib hospital fire
The Human Rights Commission in Iraq revealed the death toll of the tragedy at Ibn al-Khatib Hospital in Baghdad.
“The number of victims has reached 58,” UNHCR member Ali Al-Bayati said in a post on Twitter.
He added, “Among the victims were 28 cases in the hospital’s lung resuscitation ward.”
The Martyrs Foundation announced the formation of a committee to expedite the completion of the procedures of the martyrs and wounded in the accident.
The Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital fire caused a state of panic and fear among the patients and their families, amid condemnation and popular anger at neglect and the absence of supervision.
