Afghanistan: Dead and wounded civilians and soldiers in terrorists attacks


Afghan officials said that a suicide car bomb killed at least 3 civilians in the west of the country, and a number of security forces were killed in the northern regions of the country.
“The suicide bomber detonated the car bomb in Farah, killing three civilians, including a child,” Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Erian said.
He added, “24 people, including children and 6 policemen, were also wounded in the attack an hour before iftar on the first day of Ramadan.”
According to a security source, in the northern province of Baghlan, “at least 5 policemen were killed, when a checkpoint was attacked by gunmen.”
“Four other policemen were wounded in the attack, for which no party immediately claimed responsibility,” the official said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Afghan army commander in the north, Hanif Rezaei, said, “The Taliban attacked a police station in Balkh province in the north on Monday evening, and the attack killed 5 soldiers and wounded two soldiers.”
He added, “7 militants were killed in the attack, including the leader of the group in the Chemtal district.”
The spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed the group’s responsibility for the Balkh attack.
