The Independent: Fears among Muslim women in Switzerland about the increase in Islamophobia

The Independent confirmed in a report prepared by Samuel Osborne, that Muslim women feel fear after the Swiss vote to ban the wearing of the veil in public places.
Activists were reported warning that the ban would lead to an increase in attacks on veiled Muslim women.
The Swiss had voted by a small margin to ban the wearing of the veil in public places, in a public referendum held on March 7.
About 380,000 Muslims live in Switzerland, accounting for 5 percent of the population, and most of them are of Turkish origin, Bosnia and Kosovo.
Switzerland followed France, which banned the full-face veil in 2011, and Belgium, Denmark, Austria and the Netherlands imposed a complete or partial ban on the full-face veil.
