Harvard University to host “Shi’ism: Unity and Diversity” Symposium


Harvard University announced the organization of an international symposium on dialogue between Shias and other Muslim denominations, which will be hosted by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at the University on April 5-8, with lectures to be delivered by renowned scientific and academic figures from around the world.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Seyyed Hossein Nasr, University Professor of Islamic Studies at the George Washington University.
The program includes four specialized sessions and comprehensive lectures by Sunni and Shia figures, all of which will be available via Zoom to the public.
The historic symposium hopes to bring together diverse voices from leading scholars of Shia thought and communities across Zaydi, Ismaili, Alevi, Alawite, Bektashi, & Twelver Jafari Muslim denominations and beyond at Harvard University.
