Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims arrive in Karbala to revive the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi

Crowds of pilgrims have arrived on foot from the far south of Iraq to the holy city of Karbala to revive the Mid-Sha’ban Pilgrimage, which marks the birth anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance.
Men, women, youth and children, walked raising green banners and congratulated the Islamic nation and the religious authorities on the blessed birth anniversary of the Twelfth Imam, peace be upon him.
Meanwhile, service units were set up along the routes taken by pilgrims to provide food and drink.
The Holy Province of Karbala has witnessed, since days, intensive security, service and health preparations for the birth anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance, on the 15th of Sha’ban.
