Dhi Qar Province mobilizes its service teams in preparation for the Pope’s visit to the city of Ur
The Inspectorate of Antiquities of Dhi Qar Province announced the readiness of its service teams for the success of the upcoming visit of the Pope to the city of Ur.
Inspectorate Director Taher Quinn said in a statement that all service and security departments are fully mobilized to make the visit of the Pope of the Vatican to the ancient city of Ur a success, pointing out that 75% of these preparations have been completed.
He added that the most important thing that has been done is the rehabilitation of the ancient city’s infrastructure, such as the roads, electrical, communication and water networks.
He pointed out that the place designated for the Pope’s visit is inside Ur, pointing out that the speech will be held near the house of the Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him.
Pope Francis will start his visit to Iraq on the fifth of March, amid great preparations to receive him in a number of Iraqi cities.
