Misbah al-Hussein Foundation participates in a symposium in the Iraqi parliament on peaceful coexistence

The Misbah al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development in Karbala participated in a symposium organized by the Peaceful Coexistence Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, on peaceful coexistence in Iraq and how to strengthen the role of civil society institutions and develop their monitoring role.
The symposium was attended by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bashir Haddad, a number of representatives of the parliamentary committees and a group of civil society institutions in Iraq.
The attendees discussed the law of non-governmental organizations and the development of communication between civil society institutions and the committees of organizations and peaceful coexistence.
During the event, the Foundation clarified its role in supporting peaceful coexistence through its humanitarian and social programs that serve all Iraqis, stressing the need to amend the law of civil society organizations to fit the current stage.
The Foundation called for increasing the cooperation of the Civil Society Organizations Committee in Parliament with civil society institutions and facilitating the organizations’ work with official institutions.
