Representatives of sects and religions meet in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain
Imam Hussain Holy Shrine received a delegation that included a number of representatives of sects and religions in Iraq with the aim of establishing the principle of peaceful coexistence among all components of the Iraqi people, which the religious authority called for on more than one occasion.
The head of the Public Relations Department at the Holy Shrine, Abdul Amir Taha, said, “Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is a place of unity and it is wonderful to see such gatherings between representatives of sects and religions in Iraq with the aim of strengthening national cohesion and consolidating the principle of peaceful coexistence among all components of the Iraqi people.”
He explained that “these initiatives and gatherings came as a result of the activities carried out by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and within the scope of the directives of the religious authority that repeatedly stresses for the unity of all components and sects.”
Rev. Bardalian Youssef Aziz said, “Our presence here is on behalf of the Christians, and our presence is for the sake of the unity of Iraq and to deliver a message that the Iraqi people are one.”
