The International Nonviolence Organization, Free Muslim, condemned the decision of US President Donald Trump to pardon the Blackwater criminals who were convicted for their involvement in the 2007 Nisour Square massacre in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in which 17 civilians were killed in cold blood.
The organization stressed in a statement that the pardon represents a serious blow to international laws and a flagrant violation of human rights, especially as the decision is a blow to the laws that deter impunity, and a prelude to the commission of similar crimes in the future.
The organization stressed the need for the US president to reconsider his decision, asking the US judicial authorities to intervene to prevent its implementation, pointing to the importance of not violating the rights of victims, which is represented by the perpetrators receiving the presumed criminal penalties in the fullest manner.
