More than 150 American organizations call to support the Uyghur Turks

Several Islamic organizations in the United States, led by the American Council of Islamic Organizations USCMO, called for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to achieve justice for the Uyghur Turks in the Autonomous Region of East Turkistan (Xinjiang), western China.
This came in a letter prepared by the “Freedom Now for Uyghurs” platform, addressed by the aforementioned council, to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, after it was signed by more than 150 other organizations.
The letter referred to the pressure on the Uyghur Turks in the East Turkestan region, pointing out that there are many steps that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation must take to achieve justice for them.
“Among those steps are condemning China for the humanitarian crimes it commits, preventing publicity for the Chinese government, providing shelter and protection for the Uyghurs, and supporting the pressure that the United Nations and other international organizations are putting on China because of its violations against them,” it added.
