According to press reports, Touqeer called on the government to take necessary measures to protect journalists, calling for an immediate investigation into the tragic accident of activist journalist Qais Javed, and for the killers to be brought to justice and punished.
Touqeer added that gunmen who were riding a motorcycle opened fire on journalist Qais Javid near his home, after midnight last night, and managed to flee from the scene, indicating that Javed was hit by several bullets that led to his death.
