School Board in Ontario adds Ashura and Arbaeen to religious holidays

A school board in Canada has added Ashura and Ashura as religious holidays.
The Waterloo Region District School Board is the first school board in Ontario, Canada that now allows its Shia teachers to take time off to perform Ziyarahs during any time of the school year.
In addition, the school board will no longer use the word “festival” to describe Ashura or Arbaeen, and has now included both events as religious holidays in their multi-faith calendar.
