Mosque in Germany receives threatening, racist messages for the third time

A mosque located in western Germany received messages containing racist and anti-Islam threats for the third time during the year, according to the mosque administration.
The letters arrived, on Tuesday, to the “Moradia” mosque in Duisburg, included insults against Muslims.
Ramadan Gilan, head of the mosque administration, said in a press statement, “We carry out our activities within the framework of social responsibility and try to contribute to German society.”
Gilan pointed out that the mosque itself had previously received hateful and anti-Islam messages before, “but the perpetrators have not been found.”
In recent years, Germany has witnessed an escalation of Islamophobia due to the propaganda of the extreme right-wing movements and parties in the country.
Germany, with a population of 81 million, has the second largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France, with 4.7 million Muslims.
