A Quran recitation session was held in the holy city of Karbala for the visually-impaired by the General Secretariat of al-Abbas Holy Shrine.
A number of blind reciters from the southern city of Basra recited verses from the Holy Quran in the program.
The Quranic institute of al-Abbas Holy Shrine regularly organizes Quranic programs in Karbala and other provinces of Iraq with the aim of promoting and enhancing the Quranic culture.
Since the fall of the Ba’athist regime of former dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003, Quranic activities have significantly developed in the country.
