Shia Muslims celebrate blessed birth anniversary of Imam Ali mam

Shia Muslims around the world celebrated the birth anniversary of Imam Ali Al-Ridha, peace be upon him, on Thursday, the 10th of Thul-Qidha.

Festivities began ten days prior, with Husseiniyas and holy shrines decorated with banners and quotes attributed to the Imam.

The holy city of Mashhad, home to the Imam’s shrine, hosted millions of pilgrims and special programs including religious lectures and cultural events.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi called on Muslims globally to commemorate the “Ten Radhwi Period” as a way of honoring the blessed birth of Imam Al-Ridha, peace be upon him.

Shia Waves Agency covered the celebrations from various Islamic countries, reporting that pilgrims reaffirmed their loyalty and devotion to the Imams, peace be upon them, during the occasion.
