India: AMU hosts international conference on nuclear science

The Department of Physics at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) inaugurated the International Conference on Nuclear Structure and Nuclear Reactions (ICNSNR-2025) on Monday, drawing over 100 scientists and researchers from India and abroad.
The conference, supported by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), aims to explore developments in nuclear structure, reaction dynamics, and practical applications in sectors such as energy, healthcare, and agriculture.
Dr. D. K. Shukla, Chairman of AERB, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the critical role of nuclear energy in India’s power strategy and the need for stringent safety protocols. AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon emphasized the university’s contribution to nuclear research, while other experts spoke on the need for sustainable energy solutions.
The event includes over 80 research paper presentations and 30 invited talks. Delegates commended the conference for combining theoretical insights with practical perspectives in nuclear science.
