Muscat International Book Fair opens with 35 countries participating

The 29th Muscat International Book Fair opened Thursday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the patronage of Sultan Qaboos University and attended by official, religious, and social figures.

The event features 674 publishers from 35 countries — 640 participating directly and 34 through agencies. Over 681,000 titles are registered online, including 467,000 Arabic books, 213,000 foreign books, and 27,000 Omani publications, with more than 52,000 newly released works from 2024–2025.

North Al Sharqiyah Governorate is this year’s Guest of Honor, showcasing its culture, history, and tourist attractions. The fair also offers extensive family and children’s activities, including performances, workshops, puppet shows, and cultural cafés across the exhibition.
