US airstrikes target Houthi locations in Yemen, killing 32

US fighter jets have launched airstrikes across Yemen, killing at least 32 people, including women and children, after the Houthi group threatened to target Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea.

The attacks, which began on March 15 and continued into March 16, have also injured over 100 individuals, according to the Houthi-run Health Ministry. The strikes primarily targeted the capital Sanaa, along with areas in Saada and al-Bayda.

This military action follows warnings from former President Donald Trump, who promised “overwhelming lethal force” if the Houthis continued to threaten maritime shipping routes. The US claims the strikes are a response to the group’s threats and past attacks on international vessels.

The Houthis have condemned the airstrikes as a “war crime” and vowed retaliation. They argue that their actions were limited to Israeli-linked ships and that US claims about threats to navigation are misleading.

The US’s involvement in Yemen continues to draw international criticism, with major countries calling for restraint and dialogue. The situation remains tense as both sides brace for further escalation.
