Wage gap between native Germans and immigrants remains high, expert says

A Kurdish researcher has revealed that immigrants in Germany earn approximately 70% less than native Germans, based on his research. Agid Pozdemir, head of the Mosaic Organization, emphasized that immigrants face prejudice and racism, which contribute to the wage disparity.

The gap is even larger for immigrant women, and many are employed in low-skilled jobs, such as in construction and agriculture. Even when immigrants hold higher positions, they often earn less than native Germans in similar roles.

Pozdemir stressed the importance of standing up for equal pay, calling it a fundamental right. Despite Germany hosting one of the largest refugee populations in the world, wage inequality remains a significant issue.
