Tanzania welcomed 5.36 million tourists in 2024, surpassing its target of 5 million by 2025, according to Pindi Chana, the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism.
Speaking at a meeting in Dar es Salaam, Chana revealed that 3.22 million of the visitors were domestic, while 2.14 million were international.
The tourism sector generated about $4 billion in revenue, although it fell short of the government’s goal of $6 billion by December 2025.
The meeting also highlighted the need for continued collaboration among industry stakeholders to further develop Tanzania’s tourism potential.
