Hundreds compete in Annual Prophetic Biography Contest in Australia
The Annual Prophetic Biography Contest, organized by the Al-Tazkira Institute (ATI) in collaboration with the Institute of Practice and Dawah (IPDC), drew 875 participants across Australia this year, marking a 300-participant increase from last year.
The event opened with Quran recitation by Farhan Zaheen, Australia’s 2024 Quran competition winner, followed by welcoming remarks from Sheikh Abdul Rahman, ATI’s Vice President. Dr. Rafiq Islam, ATI President, highlighted the contest’s role in instilling Islamic values in youth, while Dr. Muhammad Muniruzzaman of IPDC emphasized its growing support within the Muslim community.
Sheikh Akram Buksh and Sheikh Ahmed Abdo, leaders from Australian state imam councils, praised the competition for fostering Islamic identity and knowledge. The event concluded with prize distributions and a speech by ATI Treasurer Sheikh Abdul Karim Naif, who underscored the contest’s impact on strengthening faith and unity in Australia’s Muslim community.
