Landslides in Uganda leave 15 dead, dozens missing
At least 15 people have been confirmed dead after landslides swept through western Uganda, burying dozens of homes, according to relief workers on Thursday.
Triggered by heavy overnight rains, the disaster struck the mountainous Bulambuli district, a region prone to frequent landslides.
The Uganda Red Cross Society reported that 15 bodies have been recovered so far, with rescue operations still underway.
Another 15 individuals have been hospitalized with injuries, while over 100 remain missing, prompting fears of a rising death toll.
