Parts of Spain are bracing for more severe flooding as a new storm brings heavy rains just two weeks after catastrophic floods claimed over 200 lives in Valencia, media outlets said.
The latest storm has triggered red alerts for rainfall around Malaga and Tarragona, where residents are advised to avoid travel. In Malaga, 3,000 people have been evacuated, while schools and rail lines in Tarragona have been closed as a precaution.
This storm, linked to a “cut-off low” weather phenomenon, began impacting Spain on Tuesday and is expected to continue through Friday. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, speaking at COP29, attributed the intensifying storms to climate change, calling for stronger action to prevent future crises.
