“Visit My Mosque” campaign by Muslim Council of Britain sees record turnout

The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) announced a large turnout for its “Visit My Mosque” program, aimed at introducing non-Muslims to Islamic practices and beliefs through visits to mosques across the UK. The initiative saw thousands of visitors participate, as part of efforts to promote understanding and dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims.

MCB Secretary-General Zara Mohammed highlighted the success of this year’s event, themed “Sharing Stories,” despite recent anti-Muslim unrest in Britain. The campaign focused on fostering open dialogue and mutual understanding, with mosques warmly welcoming visitors, many of whom brought their families to learn about Islam and mosque life.

Mohammed also praised the story of the Southport mosque’s imam, who recounted how neighbors helped build the mosque 30 years ago, and today, their descendants protect it, illustrating the strong bonds formed through mutual respect.

Over 200 mosques across the UK participated in the annual program, with several joining for the first time. The campaign emphasized the importance of engaging with non-Muslim neighbors, friends, and colleagues to build lasting relationships based on understanding.
