Shia Muslims celebrate blessed birth anniversary of Inam al-Hasan al-Askari worldwide

Shia Muslims all over the world have begun commemorating the Seven-Day Period in celebration of the blessed birth anniversary of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari, peace be upon him.

Starting from last night, the followers of Ahlulbayt began celebrating the blessed days that extend from the 1st to the 7th of Rabi’ al-Akhar. These days are especially dedicated to the birth of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari, which is observed on the 4th of Rabi’ al-Akhar. During this period, devotees light candles in joy and celebration of this sacred occasion.

Shia believers also extend their congratulations to Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah Almighty hasten his honourable reappearance, on the birth of his father, Imam al-Askari, peace be upon them.

Many Shia celebrants from inside and outside Iraq are expected to head to the holy city of Samarra to visit the shrines of the two Imams, al-Hasan al-Askari and his father, Imam Ali al-Hadi, peace be upon them, and participate in the celebrations. The sacred al-Askari shrine has also prepared special programs to welcome visitors for this significant event.

Believers emphasized the importance of celebrating this occasion through activities that express their deep loyalty to Ahlulbayt, underscoring that commemorating the births of the infallible Imams reflects their divine status and the great sacrifices they made for the betterment of humanity and the preservation of Islam.
