Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas courtyard project to be completed by end of 2024, ministry says
The Iraqi Ministry of Planning confirmed on Wednesday that the project to rehabilitate the courtyard of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him, will be completed by the end of this year.
In a statement, the ministry mentioned, “Specialized teams from the Ministry of Planning visited the rehabilitation project of the courtyard of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and the construction centre of the Manuscripts House building in the holy shrine.”
The ministry explained that “this visit aimed to address the issues hindering the project’s completion and to review the progress of the work, which includes rehabilitating and restoring the courtyard of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, refurbishing the interior doors of the old courtyard and creating new basements including the Imam Hussein and Imam Jawad basements.”
The statement added, “the project’s completion rate has reached 85%, and it is expected to be finished by the end of this year, 2024,” adding that the other project “involves the construction of the Manuscript House building, which is being constructed on an area of 1352 square meters.
