Holy Karbala Governor confirms opening of Karbala International Airport next year

The Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Al-Khattabi, has set the opening date for the Holy Karbala International Airport and confirmed the completion of all preparations for the coming Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

Al-Khattabi said in an interview followed by Shia Waves Agency that “next year will witness the opening of the Karbala International Airport,” explaining that “preparations are ongoing for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”

He explained that “this year’s pilgrimage will see the opening of new squares and parking areas,” noting that “there is high coordination with the High Committee for Million-Pilgrim Gatherings in the Secretariat-General of the Council of Ministers.”
