Imam Ali Holy Shrine continues expansion project of holy shrine
The Engineering Department at Imam Ali Holy Shrine has announced that its employees have continued the expansion work of the Haydari and Sayyeda Fatima holy courtyards.
According to the department, the expansion area has reached approximately 20,000 square meters so far, with ongoing efforts to add new areas, aiming for a final area of 75,000 square meters.
Head of the expansion committee, Eng. Hussein al-Marshidi, explained that the second phase of the southern expansion has begun, with ongoing legal and administrative procedures to complete the acquisition of buildings located within the designed area of the holy Haydari courtyard.
He emphasized that the basic designs for the expansion project aim to preserve the archaeological and heritage landmarks in the holy city of Najaf, including religious schools, old libraries, and heritage and archaeological landmarks.
