Prominent Shia figure visits International Patriarchate in Turkey to enhance dialogue
The online newspaper “Orthodox Times” reported that Hujjat-ul-Islam wa-al-Muslimeen Sayyid Jawad al-Shahrastani visited the International Patriarchate with a large delegation of religious figures on the first of May.
The report stated that during the visit, a meeting was held between al-Shahrastani and Patriarch Bartholomew, where they engaged in intense discussions on topics related to ongoing academic dialogue between the Orthodox Church and Islam, as well as the importance of interfaith dialogue in promoting global peace.
At the end of the discussions, al-Shahrastani and his accompanying delegation were taken to the Patriarchate Church, where they were introduced to the history of the church and its precious artifacts.
The visit provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the Shia delegation and representatives of the Christian Patriarchate.
