At least 3 people injured after gun battle erupts at Eid al-Fitr event in West Philadelphia

At least three people were injured after a gun battle erupted at Eid al-Fitr event in West Philadelphia on Wednesday.

According to news reports, tt least 30 gunshots rang out in the middle of a crowded park, sending hundreds of people running for their lives.

About 1,000 people were gathered for a festival at Clara Muhammad Square to dine together and celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast, hosted by the nearby Philadelphia Masjid.

Police officials told reporters that two groups of young people started shooting at one another for reasons that remain under investigation. Five people have been arrested.
