Advisor to Al-Azhar Sheikh expresses happiness over visiting Al-Abbas Holy Shrine
The Egyptian advisor to Al-Azhar Sheikh, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Samad Mahanna, expressed his happiness over his visit to Holy Karbala.
Sheikh Mahanna described his visit to the Holy Shrine of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him, as historic and great.
The officials at Al-Abbas Holy Shrine received Sheikh Mahanna and his accompanying delegation of Egyptian and Arab scholarly figures.
According to the Media Department at the Holy Shrine, the scholarly delegation from Egypt were briefed about the urban, cultural, and scientific developments that took place at the holy shrine after the fall of the tyrant, and also watched some short films on these developments.
The Egyptian official said “we first visited the shrine of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him, who represents the door to Imam Sayyid al-Shuhada Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, where we concluded our blessed visit.”
Mahna emphasized that “the holy city of Karbala has a great Islamic significance, and we witnessed firsthand the development taking place in the construction of its holy shrines.”
