Iraqi Ministry of Interior announces gradual launch of electronic visa

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Sunday, the gradual launch of the electronic visa application.

The Director of Civil Status, Passports, and Residency at the Ministry, Major General Nashat Al-Khafaji, said in a statement to the official news agency, followed by Shia Waves Agency: “The launch of the electronic visa is one of the projects that the Ministry of Interior has been working on.”

He pointed out that “the mechanism of implementing the electronic visa has started gradually through the opening of the first entry permit for tourism,” noting that “regular permits and multiple visit permits will be launched sequentially.”

Al-Khafaji added that “it is expected that by the end of March, the rest of the permits will be launched and applications will be submitted electronically.”

It should be mentioned that Iraq is witnessing a large wave of travel among its citizens for religious tourism, trade, and education in various countries around the world.
