Holy Karbala hosts special ceremony to honor 1,500 girls upon reaching Islamic age of Baloogh

In conjunction with the blessed birth anniversary of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, more than 1,500 girls have been honored with the hijab in special ceremony held in the holy shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The celebration, which was organized for the 15th consecutive year, saw more than 1,500 girls from Holy Karbala and other Iraqi provinces; who reached the Islamic Baloogh—the Islamic age of maturity—and were honored to wear the Islamic hijab.

The organizers and the girls’ families emphasized the importance of adhering to the Islamic faith and rulings and to the teachings of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them; especially in matters of hijab and chastity.
