Rohingya Youth Killed in Cox’s Bazar Camp Shootout
A 19-year-old Rohingya refugee was tragically killed in a gunfight between rival Myanmar-based armed groups at a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday evening, ANN reported. Five others were injured in the incident, which occurred in the Ukhiya upazila.
According to local authorities, the shootout between the Arakan Rohingyas Salvation Army (ARSA) and the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) resulted in the death of Abdur Rahman. The clash is believed to have been a power struggle between the two groups vying for control of the camp.
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the incident and have launched a manhunt for those involved. The body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
