IDF Kills Senior Islamic State Leader in Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday that it had killed Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Abu Zubaida, the head of the Islamic State’s Palestine District in the Gaza Strip, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The operation, carried out in the Bureij area under the direction of the Southern Command and the Intelligence Directorate, took place earlier this week.
Abu Zubaida was considered the most senior ISIS operative in Gaza, responsible for directing the group’s strategic activities across Judea and Samaria, the Gaza Strip, and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.
His death comes as the IDF intensifies its campaign in Gaza, with recent strikes targeting dozens of civilian infrastructure sites and numerous deaths.
