Freemuslim Association Urges Global Commitment to Peace on International Day of Non-Violence
…………….
Marking the International Day of Non-Violence, the Freemuslim Association (an international anti-violence organization) called on the global community to renew its dedication to peace, justice, and compassion — values it described as central to divine teachings and human conscience.
In a statement reported by Shia Waves Agency, the organization said the occasion should inspire practical efforts to promote a culture of peace and reject all forms of violence and war. The group urged the United Nations, the Security Council, and the International Criminal Court to adopt stronger and more effective measures, moving beyond “passive neutrality and double standards,” and to ensure accountability for human rights violations.
It also appealed to governments to renounce internal and external violence, end repression and military interventions, and pursue dialogue as a path to conflict resolution. The organization emphasized that non-violence is deeply rooted in Islam’s message of mercy and justice, concluding that true peace requires justice, equality, and human dignity.
