A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, early on Sunday, injuring dozens of people, Al Arabiya English reported citing the country’s disaster mitigation agency (BNPB). The shallow quake, at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), shook the Poso Regency and was felt in nearby areas.
The BNPB reported that 29 people were injured, with two in critical condition. There were no immediate reports of fatalities. Indonesia is located on the “Pacific Ring of Fire,” a seismically active zone where the Earth’s tectonic plates meet, causing frequent earthquakes.
