A powerful 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Tanimbar Islands in Indonesia on Monday, according to the German Centre for Georesearch (GEOFON) and the US Geological Survey. GEOFON had initially recorded the quake at magnitude 7.

The epicenter was located about 167 kilometers (103 miles) from the city of Tual in Maluku province at a depth of 65.7 kilometers (40 miles). There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage to infrastructure.
