40,000 Indonesians forced out of homes following heavy flood

Almost 40,000 individuals have had to evacuate their residences due to a destructive flood in the Central Java area of Indonesia, Anadolu Agency reported citing the Antara News agency.

The agency referenced the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BPBD) and stated that the flood inundated 31 villages, displacing thousands of people.

Over 3,000 affected individuals have sought temporary shelter in 29 different locations. The agency also mentioned ongoing relief operations, including the distribution of hot meals to victims at 15 different sites.
