New Azaan App developed by Indian college students

To resolve the loudspeaker dispute amicably, the IT students of Maharashtra College have developed Azan App ‘Al Isla’. With several features, the app majorly focuses on live streaming azan or call for prayer..

Slated to launch by the end of May, ‘Al Isla’, which means Bringing Reformation, will also serve as a platform for mosques to make announcements, clarifying any issues or doubts citizens may have. At launch, the app will be used by Juma Masjid at Crawford Market.

Shoaib Khatib, Trustee and Chairman, Bombay Trust Juma Masjid said, “The app is in its final stages and we will launch it by the end of this month. We will start with our mosque and all other mosques that are willing to accept this app can easily use it.”

This technology will be available not only for all mosques but also for other religions. “Such apps shall not be limited to one community or religion, if there are other community members who wish to have an app that facilitates such live streaming and announcements, it shall also be available to them.” Khatib added.
