Amid ongoing ethnic and religious tensions in Manipur, northeastern India, a deadly armed attack claimed the lives of three Christian priests, raising renewed concerns over the safety of minority communities in the region.

According to Mohabbat News, the incident occurred in Kangpokpi district, where the three priests from the Kuki-Zo community were killed, and four others were injured. One of the victims had been actively involved in peacebuilding efforts between local ethnic groups.

The attack comes as Manipur continues to experience violent clashes between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities, which have persisted since May 2023. Local experts warn that the ongoing violence is deepening mistrust in the region and poses significant challenges to peace and security for religious and ethnic minorities.

Authorities and community leaders have called for urgent measures to protect vulnerable populations and restore stability to the conflict-affected areas.
