Police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, arrested four Bajrang Dal workers on Thursday for shouting derogatory slogans against the Holy Prophet during a protest on Wednesday, Muslim Mirror Network reported. The demonstration took place outside a movie theatre, where the group was protesting the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, “Pathaan.”

The Bajrang Dal members reportedly chanted offensive slogans targeting the Holy Prophet. The incident prompted many local Muslims to take to the streets in protest against the right-wing demonstration.

Indore Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra warned against the spread of fake news that could disturb public peace and assured strict action against those involved. Authorities have registered a case under sections 295(A), 153(A), 505, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, which address deliberate insults to religion, promoting enmity, criminal intimidation, and acts done with common intention.
